I think that's what I get for developing my scripts using a Windows-based platform ;-) I'll have to make sure to test them online before releasing them. It was that problem with the file permissions that made me actively search for Wordpress's upload functions.

Something that hopefully you might consider developing is e.g. a sidebar widget?
Thank you for the suggestion! I've never quite been able to figure out a use for widgets but that is a very good one.

Apologies for replying to your comment reply here; clearly I was a bit too blind to find the comment form at 3am in the morning.

Firstly - thank you for your reply! It did make sense because this means that Manga+Press really is what I'm looking for: to create a comic section as part of a (larger) website. What I had envisaged creating was something like an 'image gallery' or 'downloads' section but for comics instead, and as you have said, ComicPress is really aimed at WP admins who use comics as the primary content and it is therefore a bit too much for me; I do like the comics, but I am not sure I'd like it to be the first things visitors see!

Unfortunately I realise my question wasn't very clear, but once I've sorted out which new theme I will be using for the site, I will definitely be testing out Manga+Press properly but might still potter about with it on my local install. Having read your latest post about the 1.0 final release - apologies in advance for sounding a little blunt here - but depending on how it goes, I can envisage the live version of the site probably using the 2.0 series, since sticking to the native WP upload functionality seems ideal.

Thanks again! ;)

p/s: Something that hopefully you might consider developing is e.g. a sidebar widget? This could show the thumbnail of the latest comic, or a list of the top most read manga pages etc.
